“Las Pachas” are works that explore Andean spirituality through minimalistic still life compositions. The paintings continue the use commercial house paint labeled with racial and ethnic descriptors, while the orange and blue colors symbolize government entities. In Andean culture, Pacha is a concept that encompasses the three realms of existence: the hanan pacha ("world above"), ukhu pacha ("world below"), and kay pacha ("this world"). These realms are not only spatial, but also temporal, representing a unified system within Andean cosmology. Yanantin, the prominent dualism in their beliefs, is mirrored in the division between the realms. This dualism states that everything in existence has both positive and negative, hot and cold, dark and light aspects.
